Clapham has three main areas: Clapham South, Clapham North and Clapham Common. In the time between 17th and 19th century, Clapham Common was home to the majority of town’s wealthy merchants. However, during the 20th century and building of the railway, the number of its residents grew, and the district had eventually developed to suburban. Another interesting fact about Clapham is that it has been home to many famous and notable persons.
